Boot Process Not Showing

I don't know if this is the right section to post this in or not but...

Since I upgraded a few weeks ago I can no longer see the boot process. This is a problem for me because I use qingy as a login manager. It's weird because it only happens about 70% of the time. I can still login if nothing is showing so it's not the end of the world but it's still annoying. I believe the init scheme changed on that upgrade but I've been very busy the past month so I haven't really looked into it beyond some simple searches.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Perhaps the kernel line in grub has "quiet" added.
