How to make my DVD playback work?

Hello, how should I configure with my laptop (gateway, T-6824c), so that the DVD playback above the keyboard can work.

I have no idea what you mean by "DVD playback above the keyboard". We need more info: what exactly are you doing, what errors are you getting etc.

To embellish upon Karol's comment.

Are you having trouble playing DVD's ? What programs are you trying to use?
Are you referring to the media buttons and how to make them work?
Are you using Openbox? Xfce4? Gnome? KDE4?

Re: How to make my DVD playback work?

sorry, I didn't state my problem  clearly, it's means the function buttons that can  adjust the volume or pause or paly or go to next frame. Thanks for your kind heart. How should I configure my archlinux to make these buttons function. I use the openbox and thunar file  manager.

Can you tell us what app are you using to play the DVD?
Do you mean the multimedia keys on the keyboard? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ex … board_Keys

Re: How to make my DVD playback work?

They seem  to be some sort of multimedia keys. I think the 'Extra keyboard keys' wiki article can help.

Re: How to make my DVD playback work?

Thank you very much. It is difficult to me, and the right configure file for my laptop is not found. I think it doesn't influence the use.
