I need openssl-compatibility to install google talk plugin..
When I try to do so, openssl-compatibility seems like trying to downgrade openssl from 1.0.0.e-1 to 0.9.8n-1, and then gives this error...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: libarchive: requires openssl>=1.0.0
:: libfetch: requires openssl>=1.0.0Any workaround?!

How exactly are you trying to install openssl-compatibility - via makepkg & pacman?
I've just installed it this way w/o a problem.

Post the complete output, not just the bit you think is relevant.

Yes, via makepkg and pacman...
I downloaded the package from the AUR, makepkg worked without a problem... but when I try to pacman-update the package, I get the following error:
warning: downgrading package openssl (1.0.0.e-1 => 0.9.8n-1)
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: libarchive: requires openssl>=1.0.0
:: libfetch: requires openssl>=1.0.0Offline
I re-ran makepkg -f again, and it worked...
Apologize for any annoyance...
Thanks for your help...
