[FIXED] NTFS known filesystem

Hi folks,

I just booted up into Arch and ran pacman -Syu as per usual.  When the update had finished, I found that I couldn't mount my external (NTFS) hard disk.

Thinking it might have been some problem as a result of switching from GNOME to Enlightenment last time I used Arch, I switched back, but without result.  Realising that I had just updated, I rebooted, but now I get pushed into an emergency console with the error: mount: unknown filesystem type 'ntfs' which is what I had been getting trying to mount the external disk in GNOME.

Even unplugging the external drive, I now get that error and am completely unable to boot into Arch, presumably because I have permanent, internal NTFS partitions too.

Can anyone offer a solution?

Thanks,

Jack

Re: [FIXED] NTFS known filesystem

Sounds like you're trying to mount the wrong partition as root. What are you specifying in your kernel cmdline?

Re: [FIXED] NTFS known filesystem

This sorted itself out.  I rebooted *a few* times and then it just started working again.
