[solved] WINEARCH=win32 no sound

Hello all,

Recently I did a new install of arch 64.  installed wine, winetricks, all the goodies.  Everything seemed to install ok.

When I go to create a winecfg file for a game by using:

WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/mnt/dugrdata/games/.wine-wow winecfg

When I go to the audio tab in wine, the only option in the dropdown for "Defaults" is (System default).  there is no sound when I press the "Test Sound" button.

When I run this command:

WINEPREFIX=/mnt/dugrdata/games/.wine-wow2 winecfg

The dropdowns for "Defaults" contains (System default) as well as other entries for my sound cards, HDMI on my GPU, and default.  There is sound when I press the "Test Sound" button.

How can I get these entries in my defaults for audio when running with WINEARCH=win32?

One more question, when I go to play a movie (AVI, MKV, etc), the volume in VLC is defaulted to 0.  I've never experienced this before.  Is there a way to get VLC to default to something more positive?

Do you have any of the listed optional dependencies installed

alsa-lib (optional)
alsa-plugins (optional)
lib32-alsa-lib (optional)
lib32-alsa-plugins (optional)
lib32-mpg123 (optional)
libpulse (optional)
mpg123 (optional)
oss (optional)

If you use WINEARCH=32 on a x86_64 system then you need to make sure that you have enabled the Multilib Repository in the pacman.conf and have installed the 32bit plugins as well in order for sound to work in the 32bit environment.
