Hello. I am still very much a newbie, and what I would like to do is look at the source code for the kernel. In my /usr/src directory there is only 'linux-184.108.40.206-ARCH' directory and in the subdirectory's of that are only Kconfig files. Where is the source code? the .c file's! do i not have the src?? If that's the case how do I get the source for the kernel I am using?
The kernel source code is not installed on the system, only the headers get installed. To get the source code, you need to check the source field of the PKGBUILD file for your specific kernel. Since your kernel is not up-to-date, you need to check the Arch CVS: http://www.archlinux.org/cvs.php
The PKGBUILD for your kernel is the following:
http://cvs.archlinux.org/cgi-bin/viewcv … cvs-markup
The sources used are basically the vanilla kernel source plus a few patches.
thank you Snowman.
