wiki template to flag an article as too verbose/low signal-to-noise

I found the category:template page and also identified the poor writing template.  I think we actually need a related tag to flag articles as too verbose.  In other words, the core information is present, but it's buried in a bunch of other info; the signal-to-noise ratio in the article is low.

Some example pages:
mpd
grub2

Thoughts?

I don't think that kind of specificity is necessary. The so-called "article status templates" are intended to be accompanied by an explanation on the flagged article's discussion page or a descriptive edit summary. In this case, I would suggest you flag these articles with the "poor writing" template and explain why you find them poorly written. Suggesting specific areas for improvement or other possible solutions (such as splitting the article e.g. VirtualBox Extras) would certainly help to encourage other contributors to get involved.
