[SOLVED] Dell Latitude E6410 shutdown problem

Hi,
I have this notebook and sometimes there is a problem when I do a shutdown (doesn't metter how). A fan is turning with max. speed and "power button" still shine. I have to hold power button for ~10 sec and after it, notebook is finally off.
Is there any possibility, that it is some linux bug or it's a hardware problem?

Re: [SOLVED] Dell Latitude E6410 shutdown problem

Hi,

I'm using also Dell Latitude E6410 and had same problem sometimes. Maybe the Symptom occurs after Hibernation or Suspend?

Experimento;
1. halt without Hibernation/Suspend ever
2. halt after Hibernation/Suspend sometimes
3. halt in text console
4. halt in X11; in this case, problem occus in my computer. Not well powered off.
5. check the computer Time, to check as if well halted down or something problematic.

I heard the BIOS in E6410 has Bug. (I use BIOS A10), in relation with ACPI, ASPM, etc.

In my case,
I shutdown the computer always in Text Console.
I use never Hibernation/Suspend. ( Truly I hope to use these fn. but happens to issue:)

lg MOK

Hi,
I have BIOS A09. Do you have this bug with A09 or A10? I don't use hibernation and suspend.
