Sound balance problems on startup

I've just recently noticed that when I start up my computer, the sound slider on Gnome3 is always clear to the right.  I am able to re-center the slider and all works well until the next restart.  I've got alsa in my rc.conf file and did the whole alsactl store procedure as instructed in the wiki.

Re: Sound balance problems on startup

I have the same problem, but it is not Alsa issue I think. It is rather pulseaudio which has this incorrect "default" somewhere. I looked with alsamixer just after the boot: all levels are ok (they are restored by alsa init script), but after login they are immediately disbalanced. I managed to correct this behaviour once by deleting all pulse user files (.pulse and others in home directory). But now it is back again.

Re: Sound balance problems on startup

Thanks artiom,
After deleting the files in the .pulse directory, my sound seems to be performing correctly. smile

Re: Sound balance problems on startup

Sometimes you should also delete these files from gdm user's home - /var/lib/gdm

Re: Sound balance problems on startup

Does somebody have an idea why it happen? How to configure pulse to not to touch audio device's levels and balance?
