copying large files to USB flash

In my Imac copying a 1,5 GB take about 5-8 minutes, in my arch 64bit it takes about 2,5 hour how can that be possible?
I have a Gentoo 64bit it is as fast copying large files to a USB flash as my Imac.

Re: copying large files to USB flash

There are already several threads about this issue. You could have a look at your USB key mount options both under Arch and under Gentoo to see if there's a difference.
