[SOLVED] xvidcap complains that libavdevice.so is not available
I have just installed xvidcap.
Trying to start xvidcap result in the message
xvidcap: error while loading shared libraries: libavdevice.so.53: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Where can I get this library? Shouldn't it be installed together with xvidcap?

With ffmpeg I get a similar problem:
ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libx264.so.119: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It means your x264 package is out of date.
Update your system with `pacman -Syu`. To prevent such errors, some users recommend always installing packages with `pacman -Syu <pkg>`.
