Generic DAP not mounting

I recently bought a generic audio player and connected it. It will mount neither as a music player or a flash memory device. I tried it on debian and it worked fine and loaded as a "generic audio product." Any suggestions as to why it won't mount automatically?

it there some sort of extra configuration i need to do? Maybe something to do with HAL?
