chromium 16.0.912.63 cannot install extensions

Anyone else?  For example, I browse to: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/adblock

I click on the 2nd link to "+add to chrome"l and the page forever hangs on "checking..."

I a downgrade to 15.0.874.121, it work just fine.

Installing extensions works for me on chromium 16.0.912.63 32-bit.

I have the exact same issue with a brand new profile. just switched over from firefox after resolving an lonmg standing issue with some ebay listing.

Hi folks,
I've downloaded Chromium from the official repositories via the 'chromium' package. Everything works fine but the installations of Chrome extensions (from the official Chrome Web Store) and search engines manager.
When I try to install an extension I click on 'Add to Chrome' and 'Install' but anything happens.
Regarding the search engines manager I can install a search engine (i.e. google.com) and it works well until when I restart Chromium. In fact, it seems to lose all search engines on the list when I close Chromium.
Do you have any idea on what could be the problem?

If you create a dir named Downloads in your home dir extensions will install again (Well it worked for me)

Worked for me also, although when I moved it back to downloads and deleted Downloads - not able to install extensions.

I have this folder already and it is properly set in chrome Settings, but I still cannot install any extension. It just stops at infinite 'Checking...'
