Is there a way to run a direct connect client in console mode or as a service/deamon on a linux server and use som kind of frontend over the network to access it?
At the moment I'm using x11vnc server, but it requires X running on the server. So that is a solution that I'm not very happy with.

Not nesseseraly, since both machines will be inside my private network, behind a firewall. I would like it to have some sort of gui. Either a standalone application or use a webbrowser.

i am not sure, but I have seen something about a php-frontend for a dc-client....don't know if it was fake or where I read it or even if it was for Linux ..but that might be what you are looking for ?

Thanks, I have requested a pgkbuild for phpdc.
It also seems like mlDonkey supports network administration. I'll check it out to.
