Hardware or software issue?

I have a new computer (i3 2100T CPU with intel hd2000 graphic, Asrock H67M-ITX/HT motherboard), and I have a strange problem with it. From time to time in some applications - only a few are affected e.g firefox, eye of gnome (image viewer), gimp - I see black stripes with red and blue pixels over pictures (see images). They stay over so I can zoom on them in the picture viewer, and they tend to stay in the same place across several photos. Closing and opening application sometimes helps, and sometimes not. I could not find anywhere information about such a problem and I am wondering if it hardware issue (graphic card?, then I can request a new cpu ) or it's rather a software problem. I appreciate any help and clues.

Re: Hardware or software issue?

looks like a problem with your graphical card to me, but i've already seen those black stripes coming from driver/kernel issues

dows your log file show any errors?
grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Re: Hardware or software issue?

I'm sorry for breaking forum rules. I was looking for image posting size in bbcode help section.

Thanks broken pipe for suggestion. In deed there where two modules missing (this is a very fresh install).  But I've have these stripes again. I'm seriously thinking about requesting a new cpu.
