I was aiming at giving a try at elementaryos' address book dexter, installed it from AUR but it crashes at startup complaining about a missing module: ImportError: No module named dateutil.rrule
A quick lookup with yaourt shows community/python-dateutil 2.0-3 [installed].
Being a newcomer, I have no clue how I can fix this issue, any help is welcome.

Do you have python2-dateutil installed?
Edit: Link to dexter: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=44153
Not sure why, but I had to manually install python2-gobject2 and pygtk because dexter wouldn't start otherwise and complained about missing modules.

No it wasn't installed, installing now... and it starts now.
Could it be that python-dateutil 2.0-3 and python2-dateutil 1.5-2 both provide similar but different dateutil and the aur checks for one when it really need the other ?
Anyways Dexter fails at importing my address book exported from kmail, for some reasons it only imports the first 5 contacts and stops, both with vcard 2.1 and vcard 3.0.

I have no idea how dexter works, I simply noticed that it had many python2 deps and by chance I had already python2-dateutil installed because I was testing calibre.
The difference between the packages is in python versions, it might be a packaging bug.
Please post your issues on the AUR page of the package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=44153 so the maintainer knows somebody is having trouble with his package.

I was planning to do that but failed to find a way to do it from the AUR page , so I came to the forums instead.
Can you point me to where I should click on the page ?

You need to register on the AUR (it's separate from the forum or wiki account) and log in.
Once you do, you will see a text box labeled 'Enter your comment below.' below the 'Vote', 'Notify' and 'Flag Out-of-date' buttons.
