Hello. I've recently upgraded my KDE from 3.4.1 to 3.4.2, Qt was also a part of the update, release 11. Doing this update basically broke any KDE related application I've built from source.
That includes a taskbar plugin for kicker, koctave3, sim, kcheckgmail etc.
I was wondering if this is a bug or was it supposed to break binary compatibility, just to make sure.
Thanks.

first i wanted to include the immodule patches from freedesktop.org
unfortunately this breaks openoofice2 and opera, so switching back to qt without immodule patches will happen soon.

Another issue, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing silent kdesktop crashes (Can't right-click, can't switch dekstops using mousewheel on the screen etc.)

are you already using the new qt-12 and updated kde packages?

Updated to qt-12 and now every self-build KDE application crashes (or even locks X completely, e.g. Krusader from CVS) and needs rebuilding. Stock nonstandard KDE applications like kaffeine don't seem to work either.
I'll look after that in acouple of days when I'll be back home...

For me it happens with both qt-11 and qt-12.

I deleted any kdesktop-related configuration files, and seems to be working well for now, hopefully it'll stay that way.

Ok this bug is still there. KDE's bug database has nothing about it.
My kdesktop is configured not to view any desktop icons.
If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate it greatly.
Thanks.
