Hardware Sensors, Fans Speeds, Etc

I am trying to read the monitors within my computer but cannot seem to figure it out.

I have installed lm_sensors and rand sensors-detect but it only finds 2 sensors.  I know there is more than that, they get shown to me everytime I start the computer.  Multiple temperatures and fan speeds.  I also know that both my graphics cards have sensors on them.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Re: Hardware Sensors, Fans Speeds, Etc

Did you tell lm_sensors to scan all buses it offers to scan? It will default to no on quite a few.

Re: Hardware Sensors, Fans Speeds, Etc

A lot depends on the manufacturer of your motherboard and the age of your hardware.  The official list of supported hardware is somewhat out of date but you could start here to see if there is support for your hardware.  In my experience many brand name machines (eg Dell, IBM) use proprietary sensor hardware which is not supported.

I'm gonna look at the link and look.

EDIT: Looks like my hardware isn't supported yet.

Note: there is no driver for ITE IT8728F Super IO Sensors yet.
Check http://www.lm-sensors.org/wiki/Devices for updates.

Maybe soon, they added detection for it.
