Hello,

I''m having a problem with my video card where it is only running at  pci express x4 on the 16x PCIE slot.

NVIDIA Driver Ver: 290.10
Video Card: EVGA 8800GTS ACS3
Motherboard: Asus P5K Deluxe Wifi

Running Arch Linux 64bit with Awesome window manager.

any suggestions?

Thanks,

Paul

I don't have a suggestion, but find your question and possible answers interesting.
Arguably, it does not seem to matter much performance-wise how many lanes are used though (example).

First thing I would do is check that its power supplies (plural) are properly connected. Check that it's seated properly on the motherboard.

Could also be that only one of your many PCIX slots actually supports 16X.  This is common.  May also have a setting in your BIOS.
