Exaile: why AUR?

Why is Exaile in AUR and not in community (or extra)?

Not that it would be too hard to install anything from AUR, but I think Exaile deserves more attention. It's a great alternative to Rhythmbox or Banshee.

The outdated wiki page suggests that it was once in community...

@im_ka: Thanks for pointing me to Exaile! It seems to be a feature-rich audio player with a nice and clean GUI. I will use it instead of Amarok.

Kind regards,
jamesbond007.

Re: Exaile: why AUR?

Exaile is kind of buggy, as far as I can see.

But it's still good for daily use.

Re: Exaile: why AUR?

@jamesbond007: no problem, that's why I think it deserves a place in community wink

@SS4: yes, clementine is great for kde. Exaile is just tailored to my netbook running XFCE

Re: Exaile: why AUR?

I see many important apps are only in AUR: first in mind: exaile, xnoise, bangarang, apper, synaptiks, kcm-ufw..
these are in default setups in many distros.
I don't know, I can see 10 cli rss readers, 40 plasma-addons 5kb splitted packages, many similar (crappy) videogames, borwser addons you can keep up to date within it, in communty or extra..
I don't think this reflects the growing popularity of the best distro out here.. hmm

Re: Exaile: why AUR?

It reflects what the people who volunteer to do the work want to do...   If that does not match your expectations, become a TU and change it.
