[solved] oss-hg

Hi all,
I am trying to get my OSS4 installation up to the latest build from mercurial. For some reason though, after install, it still shows an old version in "ossinfo". I am running a Xonar Essence STX, and the card is detected correctly, and the functions for the build shown are working properly, but to get more functionality (Headphone output), I need to have the latest.

I checked the source that was downloaded, and the latest changes ARE there, so I know the source is being downloaded right.

What am I doing wrong here?

Latest build: V4.2-build2006-rev942.

$ ossinfo

As you can see, I am still on build 2005, but yaourt says I have rev942 installed, which should be b2006:

$ pacman -Qi oss-hg | grep -A 1 Name
Name           : oss-hg
Version              : 942-1

Your help is much appreciated.

Re: [solved] oss-hg

I have tried manually removing the package, oss dir, kernel modules, reinstating alsa, testing sound, and then reinstalling. This has not worked.

One of the maintainers at opensound has verified the source is correct, so IDK where to go next with this.

Re: [solved] oss-hg

Just installed oss-hg and I can reproduce it.
If you find no solution, try to patch oss from Community with the right patch file.

$ pacman -Qi oss-hg | grep -A 1 Name
Name           : oss-hg
Version              : 942-1
$ ossinfo | grep info
Version info: OSS 4.2 (b 2005/201111292009) (0x00040100) GPL

Re: [solved] oss-hg

Patching worked like a charm. Thanks for your help. That was my first time. Feels good man.

Also, I marked this thread solved, but the problem with the aur PKGBUILD still exists, of course.
