Anyone else having a crash when doing:
System Settings -> Workspace appearance -> Window Decorations -> Configure Decoration -> Window-Specific Overrides -> AddCouldn't find a bug report for that.
The same applies to me.

Yes, happens here too.

Thx, added a comment.
Do you know where i can see to which KDE version a bug is applied?
SXE,
Inn case you are wondering what happened to your post, I think you hit the "Report" link instead of the "Reply Link". It happens more often than you can imagine.

They say this issue only happens with Qt 4.8. I think they apply it to master and the 4.8 branch, but not sure...

BTW: nepomuk CPU and RAM usage disappeared after deleting ~/.kde4/share/apps/nepomuk and ~/.kde4/share/config/nepomuk*
Of course, now it's rebuilding the database with everything enabled...

I really was wondering, lol
Thx for the info.

You should use
# pacman -S kde-unstable/kde

A similar problem still occurs:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)

kactivities: /usr/lib/libkactivities.so exists in filesystem
kactivities: /usr/share/kde4/services/kactivitymanagerd.desktop exists in filesystem

I guess I have to uninstall kde, and then install kde-unstable/kde?

How can i enable kwin_gles support by default at KDE start?
When i run kwin_gles --replace i get this:
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
OpenGL vendor string: X.Org R300 Project
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on ATI RS690
OpenGL version string: OpenGL ES 2.0 Mesa 7.11.2
OpenGL shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 1.0.16
Driver: R300G
GPU class: R400
OpenGL version: 2.0
GLSL version: 1.0.16
Mesa version: 7.11.2
X server version: 1.11.3
Linux kernel version: 3.1.8
Direct rendering: yes
Requires strict binding: no
GLSL shaders: limited
Texture NPOT support: limited
I dont know if it's enabled just enabling compositing.
Thanks.

Maybe it's because of the ati drivers. Here's the output with intel's
OpenGL vendor string: Tungsten Graphics, Inc
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Sandybridge Mobile
OpenGL version string: OpenGL ES 2.0 Mesa 7.11.2
OpenGL shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 1.0.16
Driver: Intel
GPU class: i965
OpenGL version: 2.0
GLSL version: 1.0.16
Mesa version: 7.11.2
X server version: 1.11.3
Linux kernel version: 3.2.1
Direct rendering: yes
Requires strict binding: no
GLSL shaders: yes
Texture NPOT support: yes
So it's enabled by default. Furthermore, kdebase-workspace is built with -DKWIN_BUILD_WITH_OPENGLES=ON.
Edit: Maybe I missunderstood you... If you want to make sure it's run when starting KDE, you can create a new script called something like:
~/.kde/env/set_window_manager.sh containing:
export KDEWM=kwin_gles
and make it executable

Actually i don't know if it's enabled or not. I'll try that script, thanks.

Looks like a few of us on laptops have been bitten by this bug : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288577
How can we know if it is specific to Arch, or KDE related ? Anyway, let's see if it is any better in RC2... And thanks all the work on kde-unstable

In my instalation Ark 4.7.97 can't handle tar.gz or tar.xz. However using gzip/tar from console works perfect.
Anyone having this problem?

It has been answered before in this thread. It is caused because it's build against testing/libarchive. If you don't want to install the testing packages, you have to rebuild it against the libarchive version in extra:
yaourt -Sb kdeutils-ark
Or just build it with the ABS.

Ups! sorry, now i see.
Thanks.

just after last update (4.7.97-2), I encountered two serious bugs:
- black screen after login (just mouse pointer, no workspace loaded)
- can't launch apps (KDEinit failure)
in both cases, have to relogin

Lately I have issues with kio_file eating 5 full cores :
It happens a lot when I have dolphin opened on a download folder while I'm downloading something.
Anyone else got this issue ?

Yep, I started downloading one thing and then there was three different kio_* processes. I've closed Dolphin and then they disappeared. How many files were you downloading when you took this screenshot?
