Can't watch flash video in epiphany

I have epiphany, firefox, and flashplugin installed. Flash works perfectly in firefox, but not in epiphany. When I try to watch a flash video all I see is a black rectangle, and if I wait long enough I'll see what looks like a blue lego block with a question mark on it in the middle. However, I recently tried pandora in epiphany I noticed absolutely no problems until pandora tried to play an ad, I could hear it but there was no video.

I've search the internet for a problem similar to mine but I've yet to find a mention of even the blue block.

Do you have nspluginwrapper installed? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Epiphany#Flash

nspluginwrapper failed the first time, then I downloaded 32 bit flash from adobe and put it in ~/.mozilla/plugins and ran nspluginwrapper again,

Well libssl3.so is in the nss package. As for whether to download the 32 or 64 bit flash version, I'm not sure. Historically, nspluginwrapper was needed to run a 32 bit plugin in a 64 bit browser. The wiki article doesn't exactly say why you still need it if your plugin and browser are compiled for the same architechture :S.

The wrapper is to run 32 bit extensions in 64 bit environment. Would be braindead if you needed to wrap a 64bit flash plugin in 64bit environment. That said the flash plugin doesn't work in epiphany regardless.

No, the wrapper is needed in this case because Flash depends on GTK2 while Epiphany uses GTK3.

That atleast explains it ...thanks. Adobe Flash stinks either way --guess ill use gnash-gtk ;(

If you use Gnash-GTK, also install Lightspark to handle newer Flash objects. It's still not perfect, but it's better than nothing, I guess.

Yeah,well, the hole lightspark is another can of worms..it wants xulrunner, which according to pacman wants eclipse to die a painful death. I guess the town isn't big enough for the both of them. Dunno why....
