Samsung N150: can't change brightness with Fn+up/down

Hello everyone. Installed voria's samsung-tools for staff with Fn keys, everything works perfect, except of Fn+Up/Down (changing display brightness). I even can't change it from command line. (/sys/class/backlight/ folder is completely empty) Looks like I missing some modules in kernel? also I tried to change it with gnome applet, which doesnt works also. :-)
also heard about package samsung-backlight, but didn't found any information about it. Any solutions for this ?

Have you looked at the Samsung N150 article in the wiki? It has instructions for getting backlight change to work, among other things.

Try to install bc and follow the instructions for backlight in the wiki.
Good luck.

Re: Samsung N150: can't change brightness with Fn+up/down

I'm running an N150, too. I installed Arch, Gnome and a load of packages with the help of a friend. Still we can't figure out how to get control over this backlight.
Before I started working on it, there was a gnome notification bar for backlight which I could raise and lower using the Fn+Up/Down keys, yet the backlight wouldn't change. Then I setup everything according to the wiki and it doesn't work.
How can I get some help on that?

Check Arch Wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Samsung_N150

Also, you can make use of https://launchpad.net/samsung-tools which works like a charm on my N148 (same as N150).

BTW: samsung-tools is already in AUR;-)

Fn+Up/Down works with my N150 + samsung-tools from AUR, but it knows only the 2 states "bright" or "dark". It's not what I would expect, but it's a start smile
