Pacman is sure broken properly at present
Good luck putting it somewhere in the huge kernel folks
Has anyone else undertaken such an intrepid
journey with a package manager before?

Er, no. This is entirely PEBKAC...

Perhaps you might like to assume some responsibility for your machine before you start making baseless claims?

Putting it in what kernel? I concur with jasonwryan's assessment, PEBKAC. This version of pacman has been used by dozens or hundreds of people already since its been put into [testing].

Re: Strange pacman error

I enjoyed the "intrepid journey" part.  I didn't know upgrading a rolling release was an intrepid journey.

I like it though - I can someday tell my grandchildren stories of the intrepid journeys I took on a daily basis.

Re: Strange pacman error

Yeah Yeah I'm a laughing stock
      enjoy and LOL
       I was tired after a long day at work,
      and my brain read core as kernel ha ha
      I should not  forget what core is now
       Should not have updated then------

    Anyway I did as terminal requested and waited patiently half asleep for long time
for a colord: key as instructed and it gave one eventually---- that is now rejected.
    so beats me.

In the coded post above this appeared---

Re: Strange pacman error

Thanks skunktrader

Do I do something like this?

#!/bin/bash
# pacnew-update - merge *.pacnew files with original configurations with meld

pacnew=$(find /etc -type f -name "*.pacnew")

for config in $pacnew; do
  # Merge with meld
  kdesu meld ${config%\.*} $config &
  wait
done

Re: Strange pacman error

Hi Trilby,
               guess rolling along in the arch journey is more like a roller coaster, and perhaps it takes intrepid souls to ride one like arch.
There are sure plenty of pacman comments at present and cries for help too.
Cheers

Sorry folks, this is leading nowhere. Don't start trolling and don't be a help vampire.
