[SOLVED] Kernel 3.2 and r8168

So the new kernel is in core already, but I can't update since r8168 is outdated.

Anyone who tried using the old r8169 driver, does it work better now?
Or should I wait for r8168 to be updated before I upgrade the kernel?

My etherned card:
06:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 06)

Update:
The r8168 in community is now kernel 3.2 compatible and seems to be working well for me.

I have that chip and the standard r8169 never got me problems here.

Re: [SOLVED] Kernel 3.2 and r8168

The r8168 works a bit better and, most importantly, it correctly detects the card as gigabit ethernet.

Sadly the driver does not build for kernel 3.2, I'm looking into a fix right now.

I tried the one line patch discussed in the following link without success: http://code.google.com/p/r8168/issues/detail?id=8

The package builds but wlan0 doesn't start up.

The fix actually worked fine here and I've updated the package in [community] accordingly.

@moonboots: are you sure you are testing the correct network interface. Isn't r8168 only for ethernet cards?
