It is probably very newbie, but I actually can't understand why when I do install a package from linux, why it doesn't create the shortcut into my kde start menu?
On my other Arch system, for example when I did install kopete, everything was created automatically, but on this system, it seems to do not.
I had read an article on archwiki, it's been awhile on how to create shortcut, cause I can still run the program from the RUN menu, but I can't find the article again, sorry.
Cordially, Mazh

I think it has something to do with .desktop files.
Which package do you have in mind exactly - just kopete or some others too?

I've made a simple logout and everything appeared. It is strange anyway because usually it does update immediatly. Thanks for your answer Karol

That's what I thought :-)
I was about to suggest that, becasue all these applications do provide desktop files.
I've never used KDE and I'm not sure if it's a bug or not. Maybe there's a way to refresh the application list and load the shortcuts w/o re-logging.

Next time check if running "kbuildsycoca4" puts those entries there.
