I was very excited about going back to the CLI after years and redoing the whole OS, but strangely Arch did'nt work well with me, the installation went smoothly no issues, followed the wiki updated pacman and also the Option trustall and then when updating the system I start getting pgp errors , well I had made pacman-key --init . So I reinstalled the system and still the same thing and also had errors with lib-gtk-x11-2.0.so.0 and libgio when starting xfce ,checked links everything.
I followed the guide properly , did I miss something ?

Some folks are experiencing transient problems with pgp keyservers e.g. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 1#p1044241 I have no idea why did you think you need to reinstall your system.
I have also no idea what went wrong with your xfce install, especially you haven't posted any logs, error messages etc.
Was that lib-gtk-x11-2.0.so.0 or libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0? I have no idea where you can get the former.

I reinstalled without any reason.
There were no errors actually reported when install xorg or xfce except the error on lib-gtk-x11-2.0.so.0 - g_data some error , sorry I have installed Mepis now so arch installation has gone. But I will reinstall again.
Ah type libgtk-x11.

you need to be fully up to date. i'm pretty sure you have an old glib2
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

well, i said about glib2 and you say about glib.
pacman -Syu and everything will be allright.

i'm confused about the part "doesn't work". What exactly doesn't work?

1 ) pgp keys
2 ) X server (xfce )

Yep know that I have not provided any logs as I formatted the system and installed Mepis 11, but I will be trying Arch again in a few days.
