Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

I am using the latest netinstall image (2011.08.19)

When I get to installing packages, I get this error:

Cannot resolve "gpgme", a dependency of "pacman"

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

It's because it's in [extra].

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

Please try again, gpgme has just been moved to [core] http://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/i686/gpgme/

I've just tried and run into the same issue.

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

Refresh your mirrors before you try. You can always issue a pacman update in another tty (in the installer).

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

That seems to be working. I'll confirm in a bit.

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

Never-mind, updating the install environment is definitely not working.

While the install environment updates just like any other already installed arch system, once I get it all up to date, running the install script breaks. /arch/setup starts the install dialog like normal, but when I go to select the first step, I get an error:

ERROR: ask_checklist makes only sense if you specify at least 1 thing (tag, item and ON/OFF switch)

after which I get kicked back out to the shell. I'm assuming that something I updated isn't backwards compatible with something in /arch/setup, but that's as far as my knowledge of this goes.

If anyone else has ideas, I'll give them a shot.

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

Okay, so now I decided to just try it without running any upgrades in the install environment, like normal, and I ran into the same error as the OP and I had run into before. This time, however, I looked away for a few minutes after seeing the error and when I looked back, it was proceeding to download packages anyways.

Perhaps there really is no problem, just error messages? We'll see when I'm done.

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

Well, everything is done installing and I've rebooted with no catastrophic failures, so I'd say that this was all just a lot of crying wolf and some meaningless error messages.

Re: Package install fails (cannot resolve gpgme)

I decided to just use the core install image instead.
