I see the new xcb-proto in testing. Should I ignore "lib32-libxcb" upgrade for the time being? It says that the current xcb-proto was "Flagged out-of-date on 2012-01-11". Usually simple stuff like this is fixed very quickly in Arch so I probably just need to wait an hour or two and resync my mirrors. Just wanted to post in case no one caught it. Thanks.

lib32-libxcb 1.7-2 from multilib needs xcb-proto>=1.6 so the out-of-date xcb-proto 1.6-2 should work fine.
lib32-libxcb 1.8-1 from multilib-testing needs xcb-proto>=1.7 so xcb-proto 1.7-1 (in testing) should work fine.
Can you post the exact error messages you're getting?

I think I have the same issue:
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
warning: cannot resolve "xcb-proto>=1.7", a dependency of "lib32-libxcb"
:: The following package cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies:
lib32-libxcb
Do you want to skip the above package for this upgrade? [y/N]
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: lib32-libxcb: requires xcb-proto>=1.7(testing not enabled; multilib enabled; multilib-testing not enabled)
The problem is that xcb-proto in extra has version 1.6-2 and lib32-libxcb in multilib is trying to upgrade to 1.8-1 (no testing repos involved).

Just tried to update again and now there is no update available.
Can you confirm achilleas.k?

That's good, because I simply cannot explain why would lib32-libxcb from [multilib] do that.
Bad lib32-libxcb, bad.

Running pacman -Syyu a couple of times and I still get it.

Hehehe. Well I guess the package has been held back or changed somehow (that's the only thing I can think of). Marking thread as solved.
Got it achilleas.k. I will wait to mark thread as solved in that case.

I'm seeing this here, too. Again, I have multilib enabled but I do not have any testing repos enabled.
$ pacman -Ss lib32-libxcb
multilib/lib32-libxcb 1.8-1 [installed: 1.7-2]
X11 client-side library (32-bit)
$ pacman -Ss xcb-proto
extra/xcb-proto 1.6-2 [installed]

That is what I thought happened. Thanks for the confirmation. Marking thread as solved now.
