[Solved] udev 177/178: Laptop special keys not working

Just to let the world know, I've got another problem with udev. It doesn't load whatever is necessary for special keys on a laptop (brightness, volume, etc.). xev doesn't see any events for these keys. Additionally, it doesn't load the driver (cdc_acm) for a USB serial port radio receiver that I'm using.
The laptop is a Sony Vaio Z12, everything functional until udev-177. Any suggestions or hints?

Edit: Just noticed that udev-178 is available. Fixes the driver issue, but not the keys.

Have a look at that thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=134111. It seems there is some issue with udev not loading the keymaps automatically. If you find out what keyboard layout you need, you can work around the issue by manually loading the right keymap.

Thanks, it is indeed the same issue. Already fixed in udev-git (in AUR).
