Can anyone provide or know the list of the packages that pacman would upgrade after a new installation, I need it because the system I shall be installing it does not have a net connection hence I would be downloading the packages manually.

That obviously depends which packages you "freshly installed".
'pacman -Syup' is what you need.
Updating Arch w/o a network conection is a PITA, because first you have to update the sync DBs and then compare them with the local DB. There are some threads about moving the DBs around to a computer that has a connection and back.

"freshly installed" the fresh installation of Arch.

Zulfikar, there's no such thing as a default installation, I'd lke to remind you that *you* pick packages you want to install.
If you're using the core installation image (and not netinstall, because you have no network connection) pretty much every package will have to be updated.

I pick all the packages during install.

No net connection + Arch Linux = perpetual pain in the balls. My advice is not to try this. Use a distro that has a fixed upgrade cycle if you must.

I think i will install Arch once again on my home machine and update it and take the /var/cache/ folder and on a CD and then mount it on the other system and update.
One question , the 1st time i installed arch at home and tried to make a backup of /var/cache to a NTFS drive it gave me operation not permitted , so remounted with rw but still no use.

Odds are your ntfs partition is not mounted correctly. If you copy as root it will work. You need to use umask to get it to work with your user.
Read Karol's post again... You not only need the pkg cache dir, you also need the sync dbs from the system too.

graysky is right.I have a slow internet plan and so whenever I wanted to reinstall, I have copied /var/cache/pacman to another partition(NTFS) as root and it has always worked great! So many times....
Edit:
I 'm not sure about sync dbs , I have never done that.

I am worried about my Mepis as the last time I had installed Arch my other OS didn't show up in the boot menu, I know I can configure it through grub.
