Can't mute sound after kernel/udev upgrades

Hello,

I am not sure if its kernel or udev, but after upgrading the two, i cant mute sound

not from kmix or alsamixer or amix

as you can see from the screnshot here http://imagebin.org/195220 the option to mute is no longer avialable on all but 'beep'

can you help me debug the problem?

Maybe related to "kmod replaces module-init-tools": http://www.archlinux.org/news/kmod-repl … nit-tools/

I love it how kmod is being blamed for absolutely everything that is wrong in this world

I am also having this bug - there doesn't seem to be anything related in dmesg.

EDIT:Kernel downgrade to 3.1.9-2 has fixed my problem.
