Sensors not showing

I installed lm-sensors through pacman and ran the detection script. I've got 4 cores on my CPU but it seems only three are shown when I run sensors (and the word "coretemp" is nowhere to be found).

Am I missing something or have I not done something?

Re: Sensors not showing

I checked my Athlon 64 x2 and saw 2 CPU temperature readings in Arch Linux.
I checked my Phenom II x6 and saw 1 CPU temperature reading in Fedora Core 14.
I don't have any systems running an AMD x4 processor.

I wonder if this issue is "CPU dependent"??  What model of AMD CPU are you running?

Sometimes I have found a good 'ol system reboot shakes the dust out of LM_Sensors.

Re: Sensors not showing

I'm running an AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 925 Processor. I've rebooted a few times, and the output from sensors is still the same.

Re: Sensors not showing

My suggestion is to determine what motherboard your machine has and then visit here to see if there is a special config:

Re: Sensors not showing

Using a BioStar TA790GX A3+, it's not listed there.

Re: Sensors not showing

I loaded up a fresh ARCH x86_64 install on an Asus M4A785-M board with an AMD Phenom II x4 965 CPU. I ensured that Pacman fully updated everything and then I installed "LM_Sensors".

After running "sensors-detect" and starting the "sensors" service, the output of "sensors" only reported 1 CPU temperature sensor like that listed at the top.

The 925 and the 965 are from the same die family ("Deneb"), so I think what you are seeing is considered "normal" under LM_Sensors.
