I start OpenBox via startx, no login managers, ConsoleKit, PolicyKit, whatever.
Wicd for wired/wireless network management, many apps started with two-key shortcuts.
Only 478 packages. Backed up daily. Used for web design, programming, learning languages, listening to music, surfing, university activities.
Takes less than 3 GiB, of which ~500 MiB for Sauerbraten, ~400 MiB LibreOffice, ~150 MiB lib32 libs for Skype (for now). smile

asus ux303la, core i5@1.6ghz, 8 gb ram, 500gb hdd, hd4400 gpu, crux x64 with openbox

The app for battery is ptbatterysystemtray its in aur (batterysystemtray-git)
Yep its wicd but i had installed faenza wicd iconset from gnome-look (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/ … ent=133821) it comes with a little install script
The volume icon is the app volwheel its in community

Just tint2 + conky with overzealous use of "Border Width" in the background definitions (example). The font is the excellent Termsyn from the AUR.
