Detecting and configuring a Bosch G-Sensor accelerometer

Wondering if anyone is able to help.

My tablet has a Bosch G-Sensor accelerometer, and I cannot for the life of me find anything on getting it working in linux.

Googling produces a lot of vague info, but I have found that the device most likely hangs off the i2c bus, and there is the bma150 driver in the kernel since 3.1.

Now I am uncertain if this driver will work as I have not found any info on the device version in my tablet, and I cannot seem to find any way to probe the device for stats.

My device is an Acer Iconia Tab W501. I currently have everything working perfectly except for bluetooth and the accelerometer.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Ok, after more searching, it seems I need the bma220 driver.

Anyone able to help in locating this?

Cheers

Google gives me this:

https://www.codeaurora.org/git/projects … sc/sensors

Doesn't seem to be in the official kernel tree yet.

Yes, I did find this. I pulled all the files for the driver but I can't get them to compile. Unfortunately, I do not know enough to port the driver from the android tree. Anyway, this is the Froyo branch which is based on the 2.6 kernel series (which is probably why I can't get it to compile). Maybe I need to pull it from the ICS branch (but I still think this is the 2.6 kernel series)

Hopefully someone else may be able to help with this or know of another solution to getting this driver.

Cheers.
