I copied archlinux-2011.08.19-netinstall-x86_64 on a 256MB USB flash drive using dd.
When I boot it it boots normally except for several error messages that appear saying:
### SQUASHFS ERROR unable to read data cache entry ###
### SQUASHFS ERROR unable to read page block ###
the ### numbers change every line. a dozen of these appear then booting resumes and it gets to the command line. I tried setting the keyboard and loading the installer, so far it seems normal.
Can someone tell what the nature of this error message is? Could it be just because I burnt the iso on a smaller disk than it is intended for and it should work properly? Or does it mean the data is corrupted and I should not use it for install?

I got the same error.
Using archlinux-2011.08.19-netinstall-dual.iso from USB.
Prepared the USB stick from Windows using "Disk Imager", as per instructions from the guide (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Be … _USB_stick).
It occurs on my laptop when booting with x86_64.
If I boot with i686 I get no errors.
When booting with x86_64, "waiting for udev" and "activating swap" fails. I also see a lot of these messages:
### SQUASHFS ERROR unable to read data cache entry ###
### SQUASHFS ERROR unable to read page block ###
Other than this, everything seems to work, except creating encrypted partitions with dm_crypt and lvm with "/arch/setup". After setting the password everything errors out. Also no problem if I do this in i686.
