issue mounting ext4 partitions created in ubuntu

Hi all. Just getting on my feet in Arch, and I've run across some difficulty mounting some ext4 partitions from my previous Ubuntu install. Attempting mount returns "mount: special device /dev/sde1 does not exist" (I still haven't figured out what command I can use to copy text from xterm on e17.)

Gparted when running Check returns

GParted 0.11.0

Libparted 3.0

Check and repair file system (ext4) on /dev/sde1 00:00:00 ( ERROR )

calibrate /dev/sde1 00:00:00 ( SUCCESS )

path: /dev/sde1
start: 0
end: 1,953,525,167
size: 1,953,525,168 (931.51 GiB)
check file system on /dev/sde1 for errors and (if possible) fix them 00:00:00 ( ERROR )

e2fsck -f -y -v /dev/sde1

Possibly non-existent device?
e2fsck 1.42 (29-Nov-2011)
e2fsck: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/sde1
========================================

I couldn't find too much in the way of an existing problem that looked like this. The closest ones would seem to suggest a conflict created by udev..? Should it be that udev creates a sde1 file in dev for my partition? The sde file is present.

Re: issue mounting ext4 partitions created in ubuntu

Mybe a different driver letter was assigened to this hdd. You can lookup all existing partitions in /proc/partitions. If you want to now with the coresponding device to every driver letter type "ls -l /dev/disk/by-id/".  If your cant finde an assigened driver letter its probably not connected.

You can also check dmesg for some output related to this disk, try
"dmesg | grep sde".

Are you familiar with the X11 primary selection? Just select some text with the
mouse and paste it with the middle mouse button or Shift+Insert. You can also
use xclip which puts its standart input directly into the primary selection.
