[SOLVED] AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter - very slow

Hi!

I have the forementioned WNA, I've just installed arch-linux (moved from ubuntu, had problems with it there too, but there was some 1 line edit which made it work perfect, can't find it again...) and it's terribly slow.
I tried to update my drivers, I used: compat-wireless-patched 3.2_1_s-2 and it didn't fix it.
I'm trying to use this: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Downl … eding_edge
I manage to make, but when I "sudo make install" it sais:

[daniel@arch-daniel compat-wireless-2012-01-26]$ sudo make install
Password:
/sbin/modprobe: invalid option -- 'l'
/sbin/modprobe: invalid option -- 'l'

Your old wireless subsystem modules were left intact:

/sbin/modprobe: invalid option -- 'l'
make: *** [uninstall] Error 1

If you the answer, please try to explain throghoutly, you could save me hours of googling! (which I had more than enough in the past 2 days...)

Thanks in advance!

[SOLVED] Read on, to see how!

Are you talking about the hwcrypt trick? I think you should be using the ath9k driver. I have almost the same card as you.

Solved. If anyone is experiencing the same problem, just create a file named ath9.conf in /etc/modprobe.d/ and write

options ath9k nohwcrypt=1

You meant, this? I did it, tried wifi - still slow. Shall I reboot? How do I know, which driver I'm using? I read I should use the ath9k driver, and I know it's installed.

I'm not sure what was it, all I remember I added a line to somewhere then it worked.

EDIT
Rebooted, and this is working! Thanks man, I was googling this for hours now! They should add this to Arch Wiki! Lot of new PCs with this card...

I'm glad you got it working. Please do a couple of speed tests to make sure there are no more issues and if so mark this thread as solved.
