No booting process after manually compiling kernel

Hello there!

I've compiled a Linux Kernel from the officially kernel site and when the system is starting there is no booting process (wicd, kdm etc.), but I can login into console

Try setting

# CONFIG_DEVTMPFS_MOUNT is not set

to "y" - see Arch announcement and my "selftalk" wink
