interface suggestions

First off, let me congratulate the developers - awesome distro, just wish it got more credit.

Just some random thoughts on things that would be nice as part of pacman:

Perhaps check rc.conf for USECOLOR for colored output?
Perhaps a --viewonly option to preview the packages to be grabbed.
Perhaps a flag to switch to unstable (so I dont have to comment/uncomment all the time) i.e. --allowunstable, and along the same lines, how about searching the unstable packages for searches and things and saying "hey sorry but this is unstable... use --unstable to retrieve it" [the USECOLOR would be nice here].

I realise this sounds a bit like gentoo's emerge, however most package management systems are roughly the same anyway...

If ya really want I'll scrounge through the source and submit a patch 8).

Re: interface suggestions

if there was more in unstable it may be a good option but right now there is not much worth while in unstable wink

Re: interface suggestions

We'd also have to make special provisions for trees named unstable.  Currently the logic for all trees is the same, there are no cases for trees being named in certain ways.
