I always put DAEMON_LOCALE="no" in the machines where I install linux, but I am afraid I am missing something.
Is there a reason to give daemons a different locale than C?
thanks,
etb

When you want to have them in your native lang, use e.g.
LOCALE="pl_PL.UTF-8"
DAEMON_LOCALE="yes"
+ the consolefont hook in mkinitcpio if necessary for any special fonts.

The daemons? But you do not use them directly, do you?
Edit:
No wait, maybe I got it. It is for daemons like cups that give a web interface?

The messages are localized e.g. booting with DAEMON_LOCALE="no"
