Hello,
I'm not able to run xelatex after the last update.
I deleted my "~/.texlive" and did "fmtutil -all" and "sudo fmtutil-sys --all", and they do not seem to be reporting any errors. Xelatex only says that much:
This is XeTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.3-0.9997.5 (TeX Live 2012/dev/Arch Linux)
restricted \write18 enabled.
(Fatal format file error; I'm stymied)
I can run latex, lualatex and pdflatex. It is only with xelatex that I have problems, and unfortunately this is the one I need.
Any help will be appreciated.

same here.
did the same steps like you and also removed latex-*, deleted /usr/share/texmf* and reinstalled, but without success. didn't change anything.

Yestoday i found the problem. I found that it's because zlib was upgrade to 1.2.6-1,but texlive still used 1.2.5.
I wanted to install zlib 1.2.5 through abs,but i couldn't connect to www.zlib.net
today i pacman -Syu and found texlive was upgraded, but it still didn't work.Sometimes i was confused by arch ,it updates
so fast.almost everyday if i run pacman -Syu,then problem comes.

Same here. Well, zlib.net is up again, although perhaps we should wait an see what the developers do before we make an aur :-)

I found a temporary workaround here: https://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do … er_id=8900 (downgrade texlive-bin to 2011.3-1 and zlib to 1.2.5-4). I don't think I can attach files in this forum so mail me if you have a problem finding the appropriate versions.
