Also, slowly switching over to monsterwm.
I have so much stuff on dwm that I can't live without, so I'm porting them over.

What is that panel on the left monitor? Conky? Mind sharing the config?

For February, I decided to play around with Gnome Shell/Gnome 3.

I always consider myself an Equal DE/WM Operator, but tend to lean more towards KDE. However, I must say, this set-up just feels pretty darn nice.

Thanks for the compliment!

It's Thunar... I used to use PCManFM at first, but Thunar has a bunch more features and the memory footprint is almost the same (+/- 5MB)

In the menu you go to View > Location Selector and you'll see two options: 'Pathbar Style' and 'Toolbar Style'. It's the 'Toolbar Style' you want...

You can create a shadow effect on your wallpaper with GIMP when you know the bar height smile

Hey! I use a little ruby script called "gempaper" which I accidentally found... you can grab it from here!

Not a big fan of xcompmgr or cairo so I find this really neat! There's instructions how to set it up, pretty easy. Also I made an alias to run that script. It supports shadowing both bottom and top panels (change height values to your own needs). So basically this script just adds shadows in to your wallpaper and saves (by default) edited version as .wallpaper in the folder you set gempaper to look for wallpapers.

Usage is this simple:

$ gempaper set 999.png

Re: February 2012 Screenshots

I got inspired from gaia themes, trying to create my own/ mix the existing themes.

Very work in progress, ie very little of my own work but let me know what you think:

I use stlarch's ohsnap font set which contains some icons inside. You can find it from AUR wink
