Right Click in i3? Or xbindkeys for the mouse?

I'm using i3 as my window manager. Is there a way to have a bindsym for the mouse click right/left so that I could launch another program when I click on the root window.

I basically just want it so that when I click and there are no windows open I just have my mygtkmenu open.

Or maybe there is a sort of xbindkeys for the mouse?

Any help appreciated.

According to here: http://infra.in.zekjur.net/archives/i3- … 00325.html

There isn't one. I think the post above is recent enough (November) that it's still the case... I'm not sure about 3rd party apps... I've never looked into this, but you should take a look at the menu patch for dwm, and perhaps you can implement something similar?

Oh, and there's also dzen-menu route.. You can check out their webpage or wiki on how to do this
