GRUB on partition?

How do I get the installer to give me a choice of partitions (such as /sdd8), rather than only the MBR of the drives for installing GRUB?

I already have another bootloader, and other Linux distros will give me this choice.

Re: GRUB on partition?

I'm not using either grub or mbr myself but you can always skip the installation of the bootloader via the installer and then install it manually as you wish. This is what I did to install grub2, following the wiki instructions for that. Not that I'm suggesting you should use grub2 (which particularly dislikes being on a partition so would likely be an especially bad choice wink) but just that you can just not have the installer do that step if the options don't fit your needs.

Re: GRUB on partition?

Use the bootloader already installed. Unless it's Windowsy stuff, it should be perfectly possible. Chainloading only complicates matters.

Re: GRUB on partition?

If you get grub2 to install to partition, please indicate how to do that here!
