Macbook Pro 5,2 sudden freeze

Hi All.

Finally I manage to get arch installed on my macbook pro 5,2
I am running gnome-shell from the repositories and the nvidia driver.

on my grub.cfg I set : reboot=pci irqpoll noapi

After I am logged in for a while the OS suddenly freeze and I have to hard reset the macbook.

I have no idea where to look for to identify the root cause.

Appreciate any Mac Users that may have encounter this as well and can share the solution or at least where to look for the root cause.

Thanks,
Dekel

Re: Macbook Pro 5,2 sudden freeze

I have a macbook pro 8,1 and I'm experiencing the same issue, I don't know where to look either... :S
Someone please give us some clues on how to debug this?

Re: Macbook Pro 5,2 sudden freeze

Anyone ?? Please help.

I digged through all the logs in /var/logs and nothing is there...

The system just freeze without any error...

I dont think it is HW related since my OSX works just fine.

Thanks,
Dekel

Re: Macbook Pro 5,2 sudden freeze

I manage to solve this by removing  reboot=pci irqpoll noapi from my grub.cfg and placing acpi=off

I am not sure what exactly solved it since I wasn't getting any errors in the logs.
