Running Bastion on Chromium (Radeon HD 5770)

I'm trying to run Bastion on Chromium, but after finally enabling WebGL and disabling the GPU blacklisting, I still get the message:
Bastion requires a graphics card with at least 256 MB of VRAM

So lets check out what the box on my graphics card say:
Radeon HD 5770, 1GB GDDR5

Err...well, how about lspci -vv?

Well, it seems like it recognizes I have at least 256 MB of VRAM.  What's going on?

Hi there! smile

Are you using Catalyst or the open source driver?

Open-source.  Should I use Catalyst?

It's your decision whether or not to use ATI Catalyst - however please have a look at the Arch Linux wiki first as it'll explain that you can only get it from the AUR repository since it's unsupported, and some functions on certain desktop environments may become useless.

I actually have tried it a long while before, and I didn't quite like it.  Do you think it's necessary to install that driver to play Bastion?  Preferably, I'd like the open-source driver to recognize I have 1 GB of VRAM...

It does. That message from Bastion is bogus. Probably a generic error message, and the actual issue being something completely unrelated.

Er, and that issue may be...?

If there's any information I can give you in regards to the hardware, I'll type it into the terminal and give the results.

I don't know, I didn't write Bastion.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you in anyway.  I thought you might know more about this problem.  Also...

Legitimate question: where in the lspci output does it say I have 1 GB of VRAM.  I only see 256 MB, or if I were to add the numbers together, 768 MB.  I'm curious to know where it says 1024 MB.

I wasn't offended. Apologies if my reply came over as rude, wasn't meant that way.

I had a link once that explained this stuff in detail. Too lazy to search for it right now, but basically, accessing more than 256MB on a graphic card requires extra tricks. These tricks are no problem for a graphic card driver, but lspci isn't aware of them, so it'll never show more than 256MB.
