Enlightenment in Arch LInux

Hi
This is my first time with arch linux. I have successfully installed arch along with enlightenment desktop but there are certain aspects of enlightenment with are missing like ephoto (app) is not available  in pacman, also under profile there are only two profiles given - Tablet and Personal Computer. Also I don't know how to install icons and themes from pacman for enlightenment. As I moved from bodhi linux so I want to make this enlightenment just like that of bodhi's.
Can anyone guide me about this?

Re: Enlightenment in Arch LInux

I got one thing: ephoto is available in AUR but I have to manually download and install its dependencies, is there a way to automatically install dependencies?

Re: Enlightenment in Arch LInux

"makepkg -s" would install dependencies that are available in the official (binary) repositories.

You can use packer, yaourt or a different AUR helper to make installing packages from AUR easier. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_helper

It looks like there are 26 ways listed in the wiki.  I use yaourt, it works great, and behaves just like pacman while giving access to the AUR.

How yaourt works?
"yaourt -S ephoto" is not finding ephoto!

Re: Enlightenment in Arch LInux

That's not the name of the package.  You could use the pacman syntax "yaourt -Ss ephoto" and it would show you the package name.  Or there is also a handy yaourt shorthand "yaourt ephoto" which will do the search, then allow the option to install any of the search results without retyping the command.  As a yaourt user, I've come to love this shorthand search/install.

Great! Thanks smile
While installing yaourt asks for editing pkgbuilt, can i disable this option so that yaourt should not ask this question everytime?

Re: Enlightenment in Arch LInux

I suspect there is a way, but I keep that option.  It's pretty easy to hit no, and sometimes I do want to check the PKGBUILD.  I did just look at /etc/yaourtrc and there is an "EDITFILES" option which defaults to 1.  I suspect if you uncomment that line and change it from 1 to 0 it would no longer ask.
