Because the maintainer doesn't deem it useful. File a feature request on the bug tracker if you think it should be enabled.

There was a thread about vim and python3 a few months back.  If I remember correctly, there was actually a problem caused by enabling python3 support.  It may not be the same issue though.

Because python3 support creates problems with python(2) support.
